都内の静寂な住宅地で計画された住宅である。リビングは狭くてもいいから、テラスを広くしたいというクライアントさんの要望をもとに検討を進めた。LDKはキッチンを含め12畳程だが、テラスは8畳以上の広さした。また、LDKは吹き抜けとし、引き込めるサッシでテラスに対して全開口ができるようになっている。そのため、LDKはテラスと一体になり、体感的に広く感じることができる。壁に掛けられたTVの配線は壁体内に隠蔽すること等、リビングがスッキリして狭さを感じない工夫を施している。テラスの手摺壁は隣家の開口を隠す高さにして、ルーフテラスはリビング同様プライベートな空間として活用できればと考えた。

The house was planned in a quiet residential area in Tokyo. The LDK is about 12 tatami mats including the kitchen, but the terrace is more than 8 tatami mats in size. The LDK also has a stairwell, which can be fully opened to the terrace using retractable sashes. This allows the LDK to become one with the terrace, giving a sense of spaciousness. The wiring for the TV hanging on the wall is concealed inside the wall to make the living room look neat and not feel cramped. The handrail wall on the terrace is high enough to hide the opening to the neighbouring house, so that the roof terrace can be used as a private space like the living room.
